Position: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Ajax, Ontario
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This position requires a strong understanding of quality control methodologies and the ability to analyze data effectively. The Quality Control Inspector will collaborate with various departments to implement quality assurance practices and enhance overall product quality.
Role / Responsibilities:
•Conduct dimensional inspections of fabricated components to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
•Conduct visual inspection of welds, cleaning quality, and critical part features to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
•Produce clear and accurate inspection documentation for all reviewed components.
•Inspect incoming parts from vendors to verify conformity with purchase specifications and quality requirements.
•Coordinate with the Production Manager and shop floor team to align inspection activities with upcoming job priorities.
•Work closely with the shipment handling team to verify job completeness and readiness for delivery following QC approval.
•Document inspection results, report defects, and perform root cause analysis for non-conformances and part of process improvement.
•Perform paint thickness checks and monitor dry times for painted parts to ensure compliance with finish requirements.
•Support production teams in understanding and applying quality standards and procedures.
•Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve ongoing or systemic quality issues.
Knowledge and Requirement:
•Background in engineering or technical field.
•Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
•Strong familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and welding processes. • Proficient in using inspection tools and interpreting mechanical drawings.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills.
