Purchasing Manager

Job Description

Negotiates the optimum pricing and purchase all raw materials, castings, MRO items and all other purchased items.

Enter and track all purchase orders and review open orders to make sure delivery schedules are being met.

Monitor supplier performance.

Apply appropriate General Ledger codes to purchased components.

Apply appropriate sales and use taxes to orders.

Enter all jobs into JobBoss with the appropriate detail and customer specific requirements.

Assist in obtaining quotations for job bids.

Responsible for all EDI transactions relating to material control.

Determine Max/Min KanBan materials strategy for production jobs.

Manage raw material, supplies, hardware, finished goods and work in process inventories to optimal levels. Maintain and insure accuracy in JobBoss.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Skills: Ability to negotiate, time management skills, organizational skills, ability to read, write and effectively communicate verbally using the English language, knowledge of transportation logistics, above average math skills, above average computer skills, above average knowledge of the internet.

Training and Experience: 2-5 years of trade school, vocational education, or work experience.

- Ability to multi-task multiple operations

- Strong organizational skills

- Computer skills including Windows and MS Office programs

- Good interpersonal skills in relating to customers on a daily basis

- Knowledge of sales and use of other tax implications.
