The Project Specialist assists the Program Manager in service operations involvement in the Generac Development Process (GDP) projects with some guidance from Project Managers. This role provides sustained involvement to critical Service Operations processes to help management achieve strategic goals, support release of new product and impact financial results. Serves as a liaison managing service relationships with OEM’s support for all service deliverables including technical publications, training, and spare parts.
- This is not a remote role, the ideal candidate will need to be located in Wisconsin, due to this position being on-site and reporting into our Waukesha Headquarters*
- Ensure project tasks are tracked and fulfilled by the various stakeholders
- Help implement activities on planning processes to assist program Key Stakeholders with delivering key milestones in the program
- Act as the point of contact for the OEM portal, with focus on retrieving relevant data. In NPD, the role supports the project management team and functions as a Subject Matter Expert for specific part issues and documentation requests.
- Create, review and approve Change Notices (CN) and Change Requests (CR) for documentation and part creation and revision.
- Act as service representative for CN’s, CR’s, and Problem Reports to conduct peer reviews and assist with change implementation.
- Manage updates and changes in GenService and SmartEquip systems
- Help coordinate communication activities that highlight and publicize plan, timeliness, goals and reach milestones to achieve product service readiness
- 2 years project management or related technical experience
- General mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Proven customer service ability
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis skills
- Ability to work with large volumes of process data and statistical methods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and possesses a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery.
- Basic proficiency within the current project tracking software to track multiple NPI projects
- Basic product knowledge within product groups
- Experience using Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
- Experience working on a technical cross-functional project team
- Experience within a technical field such as Service, Hardware and/or Systems engineering. Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with quality improvements/problem solving using 8D/DMIC/PDCA phase methodologies and supporting tools
- Experience in project leadership or driving new product introduction (NPI)
