About the Role
Solar Power Store Canada is looking for a skilled and proactive Project Manager to lead and oversee our residential and commercial solar installations across the country. This position plays a pivotal role in managing timelines, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing internal project staff, and ensuring the success of multiple active installations across provinces.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Barrie, Ontario warehouse, requiring 2–3 days per week in-office (especially during onboarding) and the flexibility to manage remote operations nationally.
What You’ll Be Doing
•Oversee and manage 20–30 active solar projects simultaneously
•Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and licensed trades across Canada
•Track and manage project budgets, purchase orders, and cost reporting
•Ensure equipment delivery and proper material staging at job sites
•Manage project timelines, milestone tracking, and daily task accountability using project management tools (e.g., Asana)
•Oversee permitting, interconnection approvals, and inspection scheduling
•Supervise internal coordination staff and support hiring as needed
•Communicate with customers, inspectors, and vendors regarding project progress
•Provide technical guidance where needed — especially on electrical layouts and solar system configuration
Required Skills & Experience
•Familiar with Asana, Monday.com, or similar project/task management platforms
•Strong organizational and communication skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
•Ability to coordinate multiple trades, track budgets, and resolve on-site challenges
•Comfortable in a fast-paced environment managing projects nationally
•Must be fluent in English (spoken and written)
•Able to work in-office in Barrie 2–3 times per week (especially in initial months)
Assets (Nice to Have)
•project management experience in construction, electrical, or renewable energy
•PMP certification or equivalent leadership training
•Electrical trade license or apprenticeship background
•Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and CSA standards
•Experience with net metering, load displacement, and battery storage systems
•Familiarity with solar permitting and utility interconnection processes (e.g., ESA, Hydro One, BC Hydro, etc.)
•Background in multi-trade coordination and residential or commercial solar design
•Bilingual – French/English
•Understanding of construction safety protocols (OHSA)
