Job Summary

The Execution Project Manager in Renewable and Resilient Generation is a pivotal role, responsible for the comprehensive oversight of self-build, pilot, and demonstration projects during the execution phase of the EPC process. This includes all activities associated with engineering, construction, procurement, and start-up, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project lifecycle. The PM will work closely with Southern Company Services teams, who as GPC’s service organization, will directly lead the execution of GPC’s self-build solar, battery energy storage facilities, and microgrids. Additionally, the incumbent will work with GPC cross-functional teams such as Power Delivery, Environmental, Resource Planning, Regulatory, Accounting, Legal, and Area Managers to ensure project excellence, communications, and compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with Southern Company Services teams who as GPC’s service organization will directly lead the execution of GPC’s self-build solar, microgrid, and battery energy storage facilities.
Function as the owner’s representative for project execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with respective teams to provide input on all project meetings and activities.
Provide oversight of self-build generating facilities during the execution phase of the EPC contract
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and stakeholder interests, ensuring all aspects are aligned and optimized.
Prepare and provide high-level project status reports, including written reports and presentations for leadership Communicate and report any safety concerns or hazards immediately to leadership.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provide overall project management oversight.
Conduct site visits to enhance understanding of construction practices and ensure project alignment.
Manage internal and external communications regarding project progress and issues.
Function as a technical resource for Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems
Ensure generating facilities and personnel are ready to execute all owner obligations upon COD including training, maintenance strategy, operating procedures, etc.
Review 30%, 60% and 100% project drawings to support project design
Coordinate contractual project closeout requirements and enforce GWO closeout and work order unitization.
Direct and support capital and O&M budget for assets through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
Ensure compliance with accounting, reporting, procurement, and legal requirements throughout the project life cycle
Monitor and respond to critical after-hours calls and emails to ensure project continuity and address urgent issues.


Job Requirements


Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required
Additional consideration for post-graduate degrees and/or industry certifications.


Experience Requirements

Leadership experience is preferred
Experience in project management as related to engineering, procurement, construction, and startup is required
Minimum of three years of engineering, planning and/or maintenance experience is required
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, regardless of reporting relationships.
Experience in executing Contracts
Proficient in coordinating, planning, and budgeting of capital and O&M projects.
