To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our Project Managers oversee multiple concurrent projects ranging from $500K to $2.5M, often with overlapping schedules. Projects involve modifications or upgrades to existing electrical distribution systems in commercial, industrial, and power generation facilities. Typical work includes Relay replacements, Protection and control upgrades, Switchgear and breaker retrofits or replacements. This position reports to the PMO Manager. The successful candidate will interface with external customers to execute complex programs.
Responsibilities:•Define service project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and industry standards.
•Provide comprehensive technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership to ensure the successful execution of project activities, maintaining a high standard of performance and accountability.
•Engage with customers to accurately interpret their needs and requirements, translating them into actionable project plans and deliverables.
•Ensure technical soundness and alignment with client requirements and priorities, leveraging advanced methodologies and best practices.
•Conduct rigorous quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, and plans, and provide detailed reports on project status, identifying potential areas for improvement.
•Develop intricate service project plans, schedules, and budgets, employing advanced planning tools and techniques.
•Administer contracts from both technical and commercial perspectives, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
•Lead and motivate the project team to achieve project objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
•Ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget, employing effective resource management and optimization strategies.
•Identify and manage project risks and issues, developing robust contingency plans to mitigate potential impacts.
•Collaborate with internal teams, including Leadership, Engineering, and Field Services, to enhance project efficiency, profitability, and alignment.
•Interact with subcontractors to monitor and control their performance, preparing RFPs and ensuring high standards of delivery.
•Perform and review engineering tasks, initiating corrective actions as necessary to maintain project quality and integrity.
•Implement frameworks to measure project metrics and collect data, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and evaluation.
•Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications, maintaining rigorous adherence to regulatory requirements.
•Implement quality control processes and best practices, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed required quality standards.
•Communicate effectively across functional areas with both internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring clear and efficient information flow.
•Exhibit resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving, finding innovative solutions with limited authority and resources.
•Accept ultimate accountability for project results, understanding the distinction between fault and responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
•Contribute to process improvement and PMO process excellence, driving continuous enhancement of project management practices.
•Assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•5+ years of relevant experience in a project management role; previous experience industrial or commercial power systems environment is highly preferred.
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technical, or business field preferred, or additional years of experience in a related field
•Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 and/or certified PMP from PMI or IPMA-C is preferred.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
•Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, control & protection systems, substation construction, and/or power distribution is preferred.
•Previous experience in service project execution, including installation, testing, commissioning, retrofitting, and upgrading projects preferred.
•Working knowledge of the market, end customers, and EPCs in the power industry
•Excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer focus.
•Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions:
The working conditions for this role primarily involve a standard office environment with typical office noise levels. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing tasks that demand visual acuity for reading and typing. This job may require travel to RMS facilities and other sites. The temperatures at the customer locations can vary between 20-100 degrees. The use of safety equipment can include safety shoes and glasses, a hard hat, and other job-specific personal protective equipment. The noise level of the work environment can vary from low to high (requiring hearing protection).
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and carry office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, the capability to move within the office to access files, office machinery, and meeting rooms, and fine motor skills for keyboard use. Proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is essential for effective communication and documentation.
