We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Mission Hills and Cardiff team who will demonstrate the ability to operate with autonomy managing a project team and utilizing the resources of the firm to provide top quality service to clients on a variety of residential, commercial, & mixed-use projects. The Project Manager will report directly to one of the firm’s Principals and will work with the firm’s management team to maintain strong client relationships, meet profitability goals, and ensure the project team provides the highest levels of client service and quality work. The Project Manager will support and embody PLSA’s vision and values, striving for excellence in all aspects of the PM role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Project management:
•Oversee a variety of project activities, such as production, operations and QA/QC.
•Effectively manage project budgets, utilizing resources efficiently and monitoring expenditures to ensure project completion within budget constraints.
•Develop scopes of work, and budgeting for projects.
Client relationships:
•Develop relationships with clients and teaming partners (architects, sub-contractors, agencies, etc.) that allows for ease in communications and problem solving.
•Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients. When client issues arise, address or expedite escalation to Principal or other lead as necessary.
Technical expertise:
•Perform site development engineering.
•Identifying design criteria.
•Plan and execute effective designs.
•Analyze complex construction and design challenges, while identifying opportunities for innovative solutions and developing and implementing effective techniques or procedures.
Team leadership:
•Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching and mentoring of junior staff.
•Provides constructive and ongoing feedback to junior staff to including but not limited to regular meetings, conducting performance reviews and engaging in the disciplinary process when necessary.
Business development:
•Work directly with a Principal to produce accurate and competitive proposals.
•Participate in marketing, business development, lead finding, and pursuit of new work.
Administrative:
•Completion of administrative and finance responsibilities including invoicing, monitoring, proposals, change orders, timecard approvals, and attending required meetings.
•Understands, follows, and enforces PLSA’s business policies, processes and procedures.
Other:
•Punctuality and regular attendance.
•Additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
•BS Degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental) from a four-year college or university.
•California PE license (required).
•Experience working with local jurisdictions.
•Multiple years of experience with CAD software (AutoCAD/Civil3D or Carlson strongly preferred).
•Excellent oral & written communication skills.
•10+ years of relevant work experience in land development projects in Southern California.
•3-5 years of experience managing land development projects.
•Strong independent thought and decision-making abilities
•Possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
•Exhibit management ability
Physical Requirements
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, drafting tools, and other office equipment.
•Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 25 lbs.
•Visual acuity to read technical drawings, schematics, and computer screens.
•May require occasional travel to project sites or meetings.
•Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to retrieve or place materials.
•Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when visiting a project site.
•Regularly required to speak and hear.

Compensation
PLSA is committed to pay equity, and as part of this commitment, have provided the annual base compensation range of $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year depending upon experience (performance bonuses are in addition to base compensation).
