The Project Manager I will provide overall successful management of assigned projects including budgets, schedules, resource and workforce allocation, communication and client satisfaction. The PM I is the single point of contact for the successful planning, execution and closeout of assigned projects.
- Ensure that all PM responsibilities are addressed, including developing & maintaining schedules, leading internal and external project status meetings, budgeting and scheduling maintenance, preparing proposals, and taking a significant role in client relationships
- Provide appropriate guidance and input into the development and updating of all project schedules, job cost and other management reports.
- Monitor actual versus budgeted costs to complete forecast and budget adjustments.
- Calculate accruals for project phase and completion costs
- Complete variance reports when projects have over/under run
- Verification of projects ready to be made inactive have no open committed costs, the billing has been complete, etc.
- Approve time and expense reports
- Verification of units and billing for Unit Price
- Assist with budget calculations
- Participate with monthly, quarterly and annual projections
- Identify potential scheduling delays, develop and implement corrective actions
- Attend and manage weekly update meetings and maintain agenda
- Apply various codes, requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures to all assigned work to create safe and cost-effective designs for all assigned projects.
- Use various design software and work management tools.
- Develop relationships with key internal and external customers while supporting both company and client’s business goals and expectations while representing themselves both positively and professionally.
- Maintain files and records in an organized manner.
- Learn, practice, and promote ALL safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma/GED is required. Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field or a minimum of five years of experience in the power utility field preferred. A BS Engineering Degree will qualify for this position with two years of utility experience.
- Proficient in basic principles and practices of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, general science and scales of weight and measurements is required
- Proficient user of MS Project and Microsoft Office based applications.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Utilized common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
- Self-motivated, savvy, reliable, trustworthy, as well as technically competent.

- Possess valid driver’s license and vehicle suitable for business use (mileage reimbursement may apply).
- PMP is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 15%. Overnight stay may be required.

Physical Functions: This role will may require working in all-weather types as well as in inclement conditions. Incumbent may regularly, walk up to 2 miles per day in various terrain. This role will also occasionally sit, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms, and will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Environment: This role will have both an indoor normal climate-controlled office setting as well as outside working conditions which may include extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, and sun exposure.
Proper Personal Equipment: Hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves, ID card, cellular phone, EH rated footwear with toe box OSHA Ratings, PVD's, DRG Safety Traffic Vest.

To move to a PM II incumbent must have an Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related field or a minimum of ten years of experience in the power utility field preferred. A BS Engineering Degree will qualify for this position with five years of utility experience.
