Key Responsibilities
•Procure new projects and clients by identifying business development opportunities, understanding industry and development in Ontario, leading proposal efforts including completing project scoping and RFP assessments.
•Act as the main customer liaison to ensure their inquiries and requirements are met.
•Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of engineering group.
•Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the firm
•Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings
•Assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams
•Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas
•Participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing meeting agendas, documenting actionable notes, and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders.
•Develop and sustain strong relationships with existing and potential customers. This involves understanding customer needs, addressing concerns, and providing relevant product information.
•Align with the company’s growth strategy. Participate in sales meetings, contribute to team success, and work together to overcome challenges and exceed customer expectations.
•Prepare and deliver tailored presentations and demonstrations that highlight the value of the company’s services, based on each customer's specific needs and interests.
Qualifications:
•Solid knowledge and understanding of AutoCad Electrical, MicroStation and other design tools.
•Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario with a minimum of 10 years of relevant design and management experience in Ontario.
•Experience in planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction administration associated with infrastructure projects.
•Key connections in the GTA region and previous business development experience.
•Entrepreneurial spirit, strategic vision, business acumen.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
•Advanced ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and executive presentations) with the internal and external clients and stakeholders, and build well-developed teams and positive relationships.
