POSITION SUMMARY:As an Electrical Project Manager at HMI, you will oversee electrical construction projects from initiation to completion, working closely with engineering, field teams, and clients to deliver customized solutions for electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings. You will manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and inspections, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with regulatory and safety requirements through team coordination. Your responsibilities will include negotiating contracts, tracking costs, preparing technical documentation, and resolving field issues during construction. Strong communication, leadership, and technical knowledge are essential as you act as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and stakeholders, ensuring projects meet technical requirements and profitability goals.

•Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate design reviews, bidding, negotiation, and award of assigned electrical projects.
•Collaborate with engineering and field teams throughout the project lifecycle to define scope, review drawings, and evaluate equipment specifications, cost estimates, and other key project documents.
•Manage electrical projects during construction, coordinating and directing electrical subcontractors, inspectors, and internal support personnel.
•Serve as the primary liaison with owners and stakeholders for electrical-related questions, progress, and issue resolution.
•Track and manage project budgets and schedules specific to electrical installations and systems.
•Ensure electrical projects meet quality standards, customer expectations, and are delivered in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
•Manage project costs, client billings, and collections; prepare and submit accurate project billings in a timely manner.
•Maintain up-to-date project data and documentation; prepare project status reports as needed.
•Identify and resolve challenges during construction; prepare and respond to RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation related to electrical scopes of work.
•Attend all project-related construction meetings and conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•3+ years of project management experience related to electrical contracting, commercial or industrial electrical systems, or construction project oversight.
•Proficient in reviewing electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schedules, and technical specifications.
•Excellent technical knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices – able to confidently manage jobsite conversations and contractor coordination.
•Prior field experience as a journeyman or foreman electrician, or working knowledge of field installations, is highly preferred.
•A degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project scheduling tools.
•Physical ability to access electrical construction job sites, including climbing ladders, navigating uneven surfaces, or inspecting electrical installations, with or without reasonable accommodations.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to build trust, manage relationships, and lead teams effectively.
