This is a Survey PM role requiring experience in Oil and Gas surveying, CAD, and GIS experience.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil surveying to oversee survey operations on midstream Oil & Gas projects. This role is responsible for managing all phases of survey projects—from planning and execution to quality assurance and client delivery—while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between clients, field crews, engineers, and stakeholders, while leading project teams to deliver accurate and timely results.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee survey activities for Oil & Gas projects, including pipelines, well pads, facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work in alignment with client requirements.
- Monitor project progress to ensure deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Manage and support survey field crews, technicians, and office staff.
- Provide technical guidance on survey methodologies, GPS/GNSS, LiDAR, and other technologies.
- Coordinate with engineers, construction managers, land agents, and environmental specialists.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing project updates, concerns, and deliverables.
- Prepare and present progress reports, survey data, alignment sheets, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure all project documentation meets client, regulatory, and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Oil & Gas industry standards.
- Maintain and promote adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee QA/QC on survey deliverables including plats, ALTA surveys, exhibits, alignment sheets, construction staking files, and as-built data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas surveying, with at least 2+ years in a project management or supervisory role.- Experience with midstream pipeline and facility projects strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in survey software and tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, GIS, etc.).
- Proficient in creating and organizing KMZ files.
- Must understand how to layout route alignments, workspace, access roads, surface sites, bores, and HDDs.
- Must be able to adapt to new workflows to maintain consistency across all projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management, reporting, and project tracking.
- Strong knowledge of ROW, easement plats, ALTA standards, and construction staking practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional Surveyor License (PLS/RPLS) preferred, but not required.
