The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for performing internal financial analysis and collaborates on budgets and forecast development and overall forecast constraints for VELCO’s capital projects, billable engagements and expense/maintenance activities.
Work with Project Managers, Functional Area Managers and our Project Estimator to analyze project costs, develop and maintain cost information, and develop budgets and quarterly forecasts.

You’ll play a key role in managing project costs and delivering timely, accurate, and relevant data to support strong project performance.
The Project Financial Analyst Will
- Develop and implement financial controls for VELCO’s capital transmission project program, billable engagements, as well as maintenance activities;
- Collaborate with functional area managers to develop comprehensive annual and multi-year budget plans;
- Monitor, maintain and analyze financial reporting processes to obtain information required to develop comprehensive financial reports, prepare monthly budget performance reports and prepare assets for inclusion in our continuing property records;
- Track and report on budget performance, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions;
- Actively participate in the financial forecasting process and conduct monthly reconciliations of project forecasts vs. actuals;
- Identify trends in spend rates, variances to forecasts/budget, and work with project managers to adjust project financial forecasts;
- Support the development and analysis of project and program of work financial performance metrics;

Education And Experience
Associate’s degree in accounting/economics/finance/business and 4 years of experience required. Experience can be substituted to meet education requirement. Understanding of utility infrastructure projects including expected expenditures, durations, and spend risks is a plus.
Compensation Range
$58,988.80 - $70,786.56 - $82,584.32/salary
This compensation range represents the minimum, midpoint and maximum pay for this position. Individual offers will be based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, education, skills, competencies, and experience. Please note that most offers for new employees fall under the midpoint of the range, allowing room for continued salary growth. Base pay is just one component of our total compensation package, which may also include comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off and incentive compensation (bonus) potential.
