Allteck Limited Partnership is seeking a Field Engineer / Project EIT to support project execution across the business. This role is integral to the successful delivery of utility infrastructure projects, combining technical expertise, field coordination, and project support.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Field Engineer / Project EIT contributes to both field and office operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering standards and client expectations. This position requires a solid understanding of construction practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations.
- Assist with initial mobilization and site setup for construction projects.
- Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews; prepare work plans and work packages.
- Coordinate material orders and delivery schedules.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications, assist in the preparation of change orders for review by the Project Manager, and provide technical support to field operations.
- Oversee and support subcontractor activities on-site, ensuring alignment with project plans, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Contribute to estimating activities, including plan/spec reviews and bid preparation.
- Support long-range planning for labour, equipment, and material requirements.
- Assist in resolving design issues, change requests, and equipment/material challenges.
- Monitor job progress and costs; provide regular reporting to management.
- Track quality control to ensure compliance with specifications and testing requirements.
- Champion Allteck’s safety mission by ensuring full compliance with health and safety protocols .and maintaining accurate reporting and documentation practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, reviews, and training sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, Mining, Geotechnical, or Construction Management; EIT designation preferred.
- Journeyperson certification or equivalent, with a minimum of five years of construction-related experience.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willingness to travel and work in various locations across the business, with flexibility to relocate temporarily based on project and operational needs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and plans.
- Eagerness to learn and apply construction safety and productivity practices.
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
- Skilled in developing alternative solutions to technical and operational challenges.
- Strong time management and project coordination capabilities.
- Proven ability to consistently deliver projects on or under budget, proactively implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and familiar with tools such as Primavera and AutoCAD.
