The Project Director will play a pivotal role in advancing our biogas projects from advanced development stages to execution and transition to operational status. As a frontrunner in the biogas industry, we rely on our proprietary processes, partnering with reputable EPC firms for project realization. This role ensures the successful development, execution, and transition of projects to operational status post the Commercial Operation Date (COD).
o Lead the project development through the phases and FEL3 (front end loaded development process) and serve as the primary point of contact between our company and the external stakeholders.
o Finalization of project feasibility studies, design specifications, and related due diligence
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Project Development, Engineering, Finance, and Legal, to ensure all project requirements are met.
o Liaise with regulatory and permitting agencies to secure the remaining necessary approvals and ensure compliance.
o Serve as the primary point of contact between our company and the contracted EPC firm.
o Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and scope to ensure adherence to the project plan.
o Monitor and manage risks, proposing mitigation strategies as necessary.
o Ensure that the EPC partner aligns with our quality standards and proprietary technology requirements.
o Supervise project progress, handling any issues or delays, and coordinating corrective actions.
o Oversee the handover process from the EPC partner to the operations team post-COD.
o Work closely with the operations team during the initial stages of the project going live to ensure smooth operations and address any teething issues.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree or an advanced certification in Project Management is a plus.
· A minimum of 7 years’ experience in project management, preferably in the biogas or renewable energy sector.
· Proven experience in leading projects from development through execution to operational status.
· Strong understanding of biogas technologies and processes.
· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partners.
· Self-starter with excellent presentation skills with constant attention to details and accuracy.
· Dynamic team player with high integrity and commitment.
· Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is desirable.
This role will require work in the office, work from home and travel in excess of 20 - 40 % depending on the status and maturity of the developments and projects.
