Responsible for creating material and service requisitions, generating cost control reports and provides general support to Project Managers/Specialist for capital projects both domestic and international. Trains and supervises company and contract personnel in the use of SAP to create requisitions, receive goods and services for purchase orders, generate cost control reports for use by Project Engineers and make recommendations to Project Managers regarding cost control measures and process improvements.
- Create requisitions in SAP for the purchase of materials and services
- Communicate with Procurement to ensure requisitions are done properly
- Receive goods and services for purchase orders in SAP
- Handle time & material invoices for project managers. Serve as the main contact for outside vendors to handle questions about invoices and payment
- Work with project managers and Contract Administration to set up new vendors in SAP
- Work with the SAP group to resolve problems associated with requisitions and invoices
- Assist project managers by working with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice problems
- Serve as main contact for Internal Audit to resolve invoice issues
- Run SAP reports and generate cost control metrics for use by project managers
- Work with project managers to gather monthly project spending forecasts
- Prepare monthly budget forecast for Capital strategic plan
- Provide general support to Project Managers
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be proficient with SAP and Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
- 2 - 5 years related experience required.
- A working knowledge of SAP preferred.
- A working knowledge of how tax, internal audit, capital assets accounting, and procurement affect capital projects preferred.
- Experience working with engineering and technical personnel.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Be able to work in a team environment as well as independently
