The Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift reports to the Plant Production Manager and is responsible for all 2nd Shift production operations in Spring Grove and is the lead point of contact at the site for leadership (when not present) and third parties during this time. He/she consults daily with and actively listens to the Plant Production Manager and (1st Shift) Department Managers to understand the needs and priorities of each day, and collaborates with them to allocate available 2nd shift resources and establish goals as needed. He/she assigns individual tasks and responsibilities throughout the shift and provides general management support and supervision for the same, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient results. He/she provides effective communication in the form of end-of-day shift reports to inform and help prepare the Plant Production Manager for the next day’s activities.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Identify and manage to daily production priorities as defined by the Plant Production Manager and Department Managers; assign shift resources accordingly
· Supervise and monitor all shift production employees to deliver safe, effective, and efficient results in according with daily plans and operating procedures; ensure that employees have the tools they need to do their jobs
· Communicate and enforce Administrative Policies as needed, including implementation of employee disciplinary measures
· Act as site lead point of contact for the shift to third parties and leadership (when not already present)
· Monitor and record general shift performance data as needed
· Effectively document and communicate daily end-of-shift reports for Plant Production Manager
· 3+ years management experience in a manufacturing environment
· Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and take responsibility for own actions including the impact on others
· Shop floor, hands-on knowledge and technical know-how of department operations
· Must have discipline and follow through, to ensure effective execution of procedural requirements to achieve production quality expectations
· Actively identifies and works to resolve conflict, discrepancies, and/or misunderstandings. Seeks first to understand, and THEN to be understood.
· Knowledge of blueprints, standards specifications, and machining/assembly practices
· Tactful assertiveness with employees, supervisors, and management
· Organized and detail oriented with good work ethic
· A mature confidence and objective focus; willingness to put aside ego, and to have humility as a leader
