We are currently looking for a Production Planner to join our busy and growing manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

Reporting directly to the Manager, Order Management, the Production Planner will support the scheduling of all production activities within Romet to consistently achieve on time delivery of products and services within the published Romet policies with support of and cross-training with the Master Production Schedulers.
- Assist with demand planning and production scheduling process, support the weekly and long-term production plan through knowledge of capacity, resources, efficiency, and changeover times, etc.
- Convert planned supply orders to executable work order/jobs per the MRP/MPS planning
- Identify discrepancies and mitigate associated risk for meeting committed customer delivery date
- Evaluate and coordinate material requirements to ensure production/customer requirements are met
- Analyze production resource requirements and available resources to ensure production schedules are feasible
- Follow “Clear to Build” (no part shortages) requirements for all daily production planning, and release production orders to the manufacturing floor, monitor work in progress (WIP) on the production floor, and adjust schedule when required due to material shortages or other manufacturing interruptions
- Assist supply chain in establishing accurate inventory levels (min/max) related to sub-assembly in supermarket and Kanban locations, and assist in problem-solving, and executing appropriate countermeasures for deviations from planned inventory levels (min/max stocking violations)
- Monitor critical process bottlenecks and adjust job scheduling to minimize excess WIP levels
- Prepare production packages and distribute them to supervisors, materials team, and command center
- Print BOM’s, finishing drawings, and work order documentation
- Participate in daily production walks and standup meetings
- Work closely with production team to expedite requested parts
- Support production scheduling meetings with key stakeholders
- Provide critical information to all stakeholders about where and when orders will not be completed on time and could affect the customer’s committed date
- Generate, track and distribute standardized reports, both internal and external for production scheduling:
- On time to start
- On time shipment – delivery to customer and/or delivery to final assembly
- Aged workorder/job tracking
- Timely forward flushing of inventory during job production
- Back up for Bill of Material and Routing creation and manage specification/attributes as needed
- All other duties as assigned
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of production planning in manufacturing, supply chain management, or a related field
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central ERP system preferred or other similar ERP system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills including a drive to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain
- Must be a self-starter and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with the concept of planned, firm and released production orders including use of planning work sheets in ERP systems
- University Education or a combination of education and or experience related to supply chain, production planning and/or scheduling
- Minimum of 3 years of previous related experience
- Completion of Supply Chain, Inventory, Scheduling, or Materials Management courses an asset
