JOB SUMMARY
This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Responsible for developing and planning production schedules to ensure integration of production capabilities, processes, programs, customer services/commitments and overall efficiencies.
•Provides information and support to purchasing, sales, supervision and management.
•Prepares, coordinates and communicates production schedules with sales and operations.
•Confers with operations to determine status of the production schedule and expedites operations to minimize the impact of scheduled delays.
•Forecasts and monitors inventory and stocking requirements to support production.
•Confirms and/or coordinates inventory transfers.
•Adjusts schedules to accommodate equipment failures, customer demands and other variables.
•Identifies and recommends improvements for increasing productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction and collaborates with cross-functional departments to improve product quality and productivity.
•Works with maintenance to plan efficient shutdowns.
•Monitors progress of production against the master schedule and coordinates breaks in the schedule.
•Manages aged, obsolete, and damaged inventory by working with the operations team.
•Works with vendors to process material claims.
•Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
REQUIREDPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
•High School diploma/GED required.
•Clear oral and written communication skills, particularly legible handwriting required.
•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
•Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
•Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
