What You’ll Do:

Responsible for the overall safe and efficient production and/or delivery of ready mix concrete and building materials while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction in an assigned area.

Promote Safety. Manage and own all plant safety programs, prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and injuries and are in total compliance with all Vulcan safety policies and procedures.

Manage Employee Relations. Provide strong leadership, training, and supervision to all operational employees within the area in order to support the operational function of the business. Annually review personnel performance for quality and quantity according to established performance guidelines. Manage all recruitment, training and development, and retention strategies for employees.

Maintain Environmental Compliance. Ensure that all assigned plants are in compliance with Vulcan’s environmental policies and procedures, working closely with Company resources to ensure compliance with all present and future permits.

Manage Quality Control. Direct process improvement goals and objectives for assigned plants to ensure that productivity and quality goals are met; oversee overall production and meet concrete strength and customer standards.

Ensure Economic Profit. Monitors all line item costs, product quality, delivery time, and daily reports.Assist the annual budget process, ensuring assigned plants meet or exceed budget goals and objectives, improving return on its assets.

Manage Operations & Production. Performs functions of plant manager or building material manager as required. Manage ready mix concrete plant operations to meet production and efficiency targets.

Coach and Guide Others. Provide strong leadership skills by possessing the ability to motivate and provide mentorship to all employees, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.


Skills You’ll Need:

Experience. 10 years experience in the industry (ready mix concrete) with a track record of progressive responsibility and successful operations management is preferred.

Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.

Operational Knowledge. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ready mix concrete operations and equipment, OSHA regulations, and possess an ACI certification.

Interpersonal Skills. Must be an excellent communicator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.

Financial Knowledge. Must possess knowledge and experience managing financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance goals.

Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $89,844 - $125,706 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
