Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to join our quality assurance team. The Manufacturing Floor Inspector supports production by performing in-process inspections directly on the shop floor. This role ensures that operators have the correct tools, gauges, and information to produce quality parts while keeping production moving smoothly. The inspector identifies defects early, prevents rework, and helps maintain compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Perform in-process inspections at workstations to confirm parts meet specifications during production.
- Verify setup and first-piece inspections before production runs.
- Check that operators are using the correct gauges, tools, and work instructions.
- Communicate inspection findings promptly to operators and supervisors to avoid delays or rework.
- Assist production personnel with reading blueprints, work orders, and specifications when needed.
- Document inspection results and escalate nonconformances to the supervisor or Quality team.
- Tag, segregate, and track suspect or defective parts to prevent unintentional use.
- Support calibration checks of gauges and measuring tools on the floor.
- Provide feedback to production leadership on recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Promote teamwork and continuous improvement to maintain consistent product flow and reduce scrap.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience (inspection background a plus).
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, and basic technical instructions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with operators and supervisors on the floor.
- Problem-solving mindset with focus on supporting production efficiency.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards preferred.
This position is available on first shift. First shift hours are: Mon.-Thurs., 5:00am to 3:30pm. Some over-time work may be required, Friday 5:00am to 1:00pm.
This position includes a signing bonus of $500 receivable in full at the completion of 6 months of employment!
