Job Summary
inExhaust is an industrial silencer & exhaust systems manufacturer located in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are looking for motivated individuals who will have a positive impact on our company and share the excitement of our successes as we continue to grow. A Production Designer at inExhaust focuses on creating technical drawings primarily for sheet metal fabrication and welded assembly processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Create 2D production drawings for sheet metal components and welded assemblies, including generating flat pattern DXF files for CNC cutting processes.
•Ensure all drawings are production-ready with accurate dimensions, tolerances, and weld symbols, providing clear instructions for fabrication and assembly teams.
•Complete drawings in a timely manner to support production and delivery goals.
•Collaborate with production staff to address questions or issues.
•Work with design engineers to refine and improve designs for manufacturability, incorporating feedback from production floor to enhance product quality and reduce manufacturing challenges.
•Maintain and organize all drawings and revisions ensuring the latest versions are accessible.
•Review engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
•Communicate with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the production of detailed drawings.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting and CAD design
•Experience implementing designs on a production floor
•Familiarity with industrial silencers and large exhaust systems a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
•Ability to refine designs to simplify fabrication, reduce costs, and improve assembly efficiency.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential in this role.
•Capable of working independently under pressure, to organize and prioritize workloads, and to keep several projects progressing to completion with little or no direction.
•Communicates clearly and works well with other team members.
