Founded in 1986, Atlantic Fabricating Company is a woman-owned small business specializing in machining, fabrication, and electro-mechanical assembly. We support industries including nuclear, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing from our fully equipped 18,000 sq ft facility.
We are seeking a full-time Procurement Manager to take ownership of our purchasing and receiving processes. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and Business Development Manager and will play a key part in scaling Atlantic’s procurement function as the company continues to grow. The position is best suited for someone who thrives in a hands-on, small business environment where flexibility, communication, and initiative are highly valued.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of all purchased products, outside services, and shop supplies from quote through receipt. This role will coordinate with operations and project management to ensure timely material availability, vendor reliability, and cost control, while maintaining accurate data in Fulcrum ERP. This is a growth-oriented position, offering the opportunity to shape and lead Atlantic’s procurement systems.
- Manage the full procurement process for materials, hardware, and outside services
- Place purchase orders based on job requirements, forecasts, and team input
- Maintain strong communication with suppliers regarding confirmations, lead times, and deliveries
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and reliability
- Track supplier performance and provide feedback to support continuous improvement
- Enter and manage procurement activity in Fulcrum ERP and Smartsheets
- Receive and inspect incoming materials against purchase orders
- Record receipts in Fulcrum ERP and ensure documentation is accurate
- Stage materials for internal inspection and notify operations of product status
- Maintain an organized and efficient receiving area and stockroom
- Develop and refine supplier relationships to support Atlantic’s long-term needs
- Collaborate with operations to forecast demand and identify supply risks
- Support initiatives in cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and improved lead times
- Contribute to the development of best practices and SOPs for procurement
- Work closely with Operations, Project Management, and Front Office staff to align purchasing priorities with production schedules
- Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders on order status and material availability
- Support reporting requirements for spend analysis, supplier metrics, and audit compliance- 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing (manufacturing environment strongly preferred)
- Direct experience in sheet metal, machining, welding, or related manufacturing fields is a major plus
- Experience with ERP systems (Fulcrum ERP experience is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
- Problem-solving mindset with the initiative to drive process improvements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with receiving as needed
