JOB SUMMARY: It is the purpose of this position to provide the necessary commercial and technical leadership to develop and execute process plant projects. The responsibility of the position is to ensure GasTech develops and submits a technically and commercially responsive proposal and, upon project award, manage the project to assure meeting customer requirements as well as realizing a technically and commercially successful project for GasTech. It is the goal of the position to help establish GasTech Engineering as the most respected process plants and equipment solutions provider in the markets and for the customers, we serve.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Promote repeat customer business via consistent contact and relationship from proposal to project execution.
•Review customer inquiry documents, suggest GasTech proposal strategy, and review the strategy with Business Development and the Chief Strategy & Technology Officer.
•Develop proposal schedules.
•Review Plot Plans, P&ID’s, and other scope defining documents to suggest optimization strategies to give GasTech a competitive commercial and execution edge.
•Support preparation of or prepare cost estimates as required to support budgetary cost estimates and proposals.
•Develop GasTech’s technical and commercial proposal obtaining input from various departments.
•Support Business Development in presenting technical and commercial details to potential clients.
•Respond to client questions regarding the proposal.
•Management of overall project execution from order to start-up.
•Through the input of others, compile information to develop/manage labor performance, project costs, and schedules.
•Develop, supervise, and approve the issue of all project documents.
•Coordinate with others as the point of customer contact throughout the project.
•Continuously review the project for quality, accuracy, and safety.
•Assist in developing process control philosophy.
•Communicate with all organization levels, clients, & suppliers.
•Continuously demonstrate effective, professional leadership.
•Develop, interpret, and optimize P&IDs.
•Responsible for the preparation of the Project Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
•Periodically participate in HAZOP meetings.
•Assist in start-up, commissioning, and performance testing.
•Perform field trouble shooting, as required.
•Train GasTech personnel as necessary to improve overall performance.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•A Master’s degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering or commensurate experience is required.
•A minimum of 10 years’ experience managing process plant projects in a similar role is preferred.
•Excellent technical proficiency with Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering software programs and technical tools, as well as advanced level skills with Microsoft Office, are required.
•The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.
•Previous experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred.
•The ability to remain organized with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.
•The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.
•Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required.
•The ability to effectively communicate both process and equipment concepts to both internal and external customers is required.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, etc. is required.
•A registered Professional Engineering license, field experience, and experience working in an ISO 9001 environment are preferred.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
•Our office provides common office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers for staff to use as needed.
•Routine work and staff interactions within our office environment occur daily.
•The ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer is required.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include natural or corrected close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•Long hours on a keyboard require fine dexterity use of hands/fingers for sustained periods of time.
•Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
•Must be able to follow all safety protocols while in our shop area.
