We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at Axel Royal!
Responsible for the overall management of the Axel U.S. quality management system as outlined by ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems. Effectively ensures compliance of customer requirements by managing quality policies, standards, procedures, programs and practices while driving and facilitating continuous improvement. Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. Focuses on the design, operation, control, and optimization of industrial processes, with a goal to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety in production processes.
- Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality program to ensure the Company’s Quality policies, systems, and practices are in compliance with requirements
- Work with supply chain staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
- Determine the quality program training needs and update as appropriate; Ensure all staff are successfully trained (at the time of hire and periodically thereafter) on the requirements of the quality program related to their own roles and responsibilities
- Interact with customer representatives and ensure compliance with customers’ specifications and the execution of corrective action (as applicable)
- Ensure transfer of customer/product specifications and requirements to production and quality control staff
- Lead root cause analysis investigations to analyze failure, as well as determine corrective and preventive action thoroughly and timely
- Plan, manage and conduct internal audits; Facilitate 3-party, customer and vendor audits; Develop and manage root cause and corrective action program for audit findings
- Prepare quality-related metrics, reports, and meeting material
- Determine and analyze the risks and opportunities related to product quality
- Develop and maintain quality control goals and objectives, reporting results to upper management
- Present KPI and scorecard metrics to streamline, ensure quality focus, and measure results for continuous improvement
- Create and maintain process flow mapping
- Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as Six Sigma, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
- Performs all other related duties and assignments as required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or a quality-related field
- AND at least 5 years of related experience
- Previous Manufacturing industry experience required
- Experience (including audits) with quality management systems, and specifically ISO 9001, required
- Experience with ISO 14000 and IATF 16949 preferred
- Experience with Safety and Environmental standards is a plus
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors
- Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Experience with data software and ERP systems is a plus
