TITLE: Principal Engineer - Civil GREAT BENEFITS + SIGN ON BONUS + RELOCATION

SALARY RANGE: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $ 128,000 to $142916

Job Summary

Responsible for designs for major capital projects in both Maine (Central Maine Power and Maine Electric Power Company) and New York (NYSEG and RG&E), this includes input into standards and training needs.

The electric delivery system in Maine contains approximately 2,600 miles of transmission lines & 317 substations. The electric delivery system in New York contains approximately 5,600 miles of transmission lines & 621 substations. The electric delivery system in Connecticut contains approximately 130 miles of transmission lines and 28 bulk electric supply substations.

Position reports to the Projects Coordinator, but the position will work day-to-day in a cross functional project team and support project needs as dictated by the project manager.

Key Responsibilities* Capital project engineering performance including all phases such as: scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction, and closeout + Utilize knowledge to influence and guide department engineers. + Provide technical leadership in most complex projects that have a wide impact on the business

Required Qualifications* Education & Experience Required: + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required + 10+ years minimum relevant experience + Professional Engineering License Required

+ Technical Skills/Competencies + Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the business model; + Global View of the Business (Values cross-functional collaboration, understands importance of growing knowledge and developing relationships and links across the organization + Practical enginering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.") + Engineering documentation – Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation + Ability to review and approve engineering work done by others - to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements + Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment – Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements

- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to decipher unique technical and analytical problems,

- Proven ability to lead and manage projects,

- Where appropriate, technical, and operational experience in a relevant engineering role within a utility environment.
