As an Electrical Preconstruction Manger - at KE you will play a key role within our Pre-Construction team. This person is the bridge between Estimation and Operations. The Preconstruction Manger will be responsible for bringing an estimate from conceptual design to a finished project that is construction ready. The Preconstruction Manger will work with our Estimators, Pre-Construction Team, Drafters, and Project Managers throughout the design phase until it is ready to hand off to our Operations team. KE performs Design Build projects, nationwide, in a variety of industries including but not limited to Biodiesel & Ethanol production facilities, Grain storage, Fertilizer Terminals, Feed & Flour Mills, Dairy Processing plants, and Cement/Aggregate plants, etc.
- Verify vendor quotes and provide submittal packages
- Participate in customer/client design review meetings and presentations
- Assist in leading/managing engineering needs to ensure final product matches the “KE-Way” design
- Complete conceptual engineering and or design for the following
- Sizing conduit/cable to serve electrical equipment such as MCC’s, Switchboards, Panelboards, and Transformers
Comprehend MCC BOM’s and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and controller types are accurate
- - Comprehend Switchgear BOM’s and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and over current protection types are correct
- Build conduit cable schedules to serve
- Motors
- Controls and instrumentation devices
- Branch Circuiting
- Knowledge of motor control devices such as VFD’s, Soft Starts, Networked MCC’s, and traditional across the line starters
- Medium Voltage Distribution systems such as
- Vacuum Fault Interrupters
- Metal Clad MV Switchgear
- MV transformers
- Various MV Cable Types and terminations
- Experience with Special systems such as
- Network cabling
- Instrumentation
- Fire Alarm
- Door access/Security systems
- Grounding Systems
- Act as a bridge from estimating to operations or Concept to reality
- Additional duties as needed

- Experience with BlueBeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Smartsheets, and Procore
- A knowledge of electrical and or automation construction practices or industrial electrical work.
- Knowledge of the NEC
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, and customers
- Effectively communicate using various methods including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, email, text, or phone calls
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system
- Journeyman Electricians License, a degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related, or equivalent combination of field experience/education
- Excellent time management, and project tasking
- Capable of being flexible to meet project deadlines
- Must be self-motivated, and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
- Ability to problem solve and take accountability for decisions on projects.
- Possess and maintain a valid driving license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Ability to have team first mentality
- Ability to teach and mentor other members of the group
- Open to occasional travel

Pay Range: $80,000 - $110,000 incentive opportunities, or other applicable compensation details.
