We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Power Systems Engineer. This will be a Monday-Friday schedule. Please note that this position is based in Labrador West.
- Support operations through continuous improvement of electrical equipment and systems.
- Plan, design and analyzing new and existing power systems to increase reliability & sustainability.
- Troubleshooting power system failures and performing root cause analysis.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Coordinate with procurement on the purchase of new equipment and work with various contractor groups on the installation and modifications of electrical equipment.
- Ensure that new and existing infrastructure conform to provincial & federal standards.
- Organize and lead projects as assigned, from concept to execution.
- Creation of work packages for tendering.
- Work with the local utility provider on usage forecasting and other required reporting.
- Perform Arc Flash Studies for site-based electrical equipment.
- Assist in the implementation of long-term maintenance and replacement planning of existing power distribution infrastructure.
- Other duties as assigned.
- The candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
- The candidate must be a Member of a Provincial Professional Engineering Organization (Professional Engineer).
