Summary
The Power Equipment Specialist at PROPWR serves as a link between Asset Integrity, field operations, and HSE teams. This role involves training and evaluating both new and existing PROPWR employees, assists in the development and maintenance of the organization’s operational and safety policies, and ensures the accessibility of proper training materials.
Responsibilities
•Work with employees new to PROPWR to learn power generation and assist as needed to ensure the safety of employees and the safe movement and operation of equipment on location
•Develop, update, and maintain PROPWR policies and procedures
•Collect information and pictures of new equipment in operation for use in future training
•Maintain records of all software programs used for training field employees
•Travel to job locations throughout the Permian and Delaware Basins (West Texas and New Mexico) as needed
•Perform site safety audits
•Ensure the accessibility of proper training material and software for every equipment variation
•Train and assess new and existing PROPWR employees on power generation packages and related equipment
•Attend meetings and training for new equipment, may require extended travel
•Assist Asset Integrity Manager with future training projects
•Stay current on HSE policies and procedures to properly answer any questions personnel may ask
•Encourage employees to know and enforce HSE and Operations Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) on location
•Maintain required regular communication with the Asset Integrity Manager via approved messaging application concerning daily activities, current location, location changes, duties accomplished on location, changes in work schedule, or any other information requested
•Safely operate company vehicle in all conditions
•Maintain compliance with all job location policies and procedures
•Maintain compliance with HSE policies by attending all required training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
•Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•2 years’ experience in power generation or related field, strongly preferred
•Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
•Must be able to operate all equipment used in power generation operations and train employees to do so
•Must be able to troubleshoot all power generation equipment and basic software
•Experience with gas reciprocating engine packages, preferred
•CAT gas engine experience, preferred
•Experience with Solar SMT turbine packages, preferred
•Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, can interact in a professional manner with clients, team, and personnel at all levels of the organization
•Personable, can maintain good rapport with organizational leadership, clients, and team
•Must be able to pass knowledge to others in a learning environment
•Must be driven, self-motivated, well-organized, and have good time management skills
•Flexible, can easily handle changes requirements and organizational policies
•Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
•Must be physically able to sit or stand for long periods, work indoors and outdoors, and withstand extreme weather conditions
•Must be physically able to safely operate a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all weather conditions
