SUMMARY
The PMO Manager Position is a dual function role responsible for directly managing
Project Management resources while focusing on strengthening and standardizing Mitsubishi Power’s Project Management Office processes and tools to help the organization deliver world-class project execution while improving the overall customer experience.
The PMO Manager must hold current Project Management certification, PMP from the Project Management Institute as well as have a high level of accomplishment executing major projects. The PMO Manger will be the knowledge expert point of contact, as well as provide oversight, mentoring, and governance throughout the organization. The PMO Manager will be responsible to define, maintain, and drive Mitsubishi Power’s guiding project management principles throughout the organization. Through training and certifications, as well as creating a formal, standardized way for the organization to better understand project initiation, managing and forecasting budgets, schedule adherence, and project reporting & communications. Responsible for directly leading, managing, coaching, and developing their employees. Direct reports to the PMO Manager will include Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Schedulers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Provides strategic leadership of the Project Management Office (PMO) development efforts and operations, as delegated by the PMO Director. PMO development consists of creation, improvement, and expansion of PM methodology, tools, training, reporting capabilities, and cross-functional DOR clarity and gap analyses. The PMO shall work across all PGS departments to collectively raise PM competency and project execution excellence for the business division.
•PMO Manager serves as the main point of contact with business leaders and stakeholders to manage the project pipeline with PM resource staffing and assignments.
•Accountable for leading project manages to achieve project delivery, profit & loss objectives, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources.
•Responsible for sustaining P&L operating rhythm through visual management aids and monthly reporting metrics.
•Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices while leading coordinated effort to standardize project management tools, software, and processes across the organization.
•Support department budget processes, including creation, monitoring, and management.
•Provides technical, commercial and strategic support for sales negotiations. Assist with proposal development by supporting project walk-down(s), estimating, and other activities of proposal creation, as needed.
•Monitor cross functional handoffs and lead team to continually improve effective coordination. Identify gaps and develop improvements accordingly. Lead project managers to foster accountability on behalf of Mitsubishi Power for all aspects of project including planning, engineering, procurement, execution, invoicing, and other project activities.
•Leads others and directs all phases of assigned projects by utilizing program and project methodologies, systems, tools and quality standards as defined by Mitsubishi Power in developing project plans and deliverables that meet identified requirements. Develops and maintains project organization structure including Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAAs) of each team engaged on the project.
•Analyzes project performance measures to determine options and appropriate actions to increase project performance. Monitors project portfolio and participates in risk assessment & mitigation.
•Continuously seeks to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of project management best practices and participates in and promotes the development and adoption of new processes or changes to existing processes within Mitsubishi Power that continue to mature the program/project management discipline.
•Establish, coach, and hold teams accountable to follow project controls rigor, ensuring tollgates are respected and change is appropriately managed.
•Leads team to ensure lessons learned are captured and managed.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Engage with customers and stakeholders for consistent feedback on project execution performance. Use feedback to identify opportunities and develop strategies for improvement.
•Collaborate with and provide coaching to project resources and management in other departments to drive consistency across the business.

•Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and eight (8) plus years related experience in managing generation projects or equivalent working experience. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
•Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
•Mathematical Skills:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Computer Skills: Knowledge of computer-aided design, database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
