“I want you to join our team. Not so you can work for me, but so I can go to work for you by providing a purposeful environment for you to hone your craft in a team-centric company culture that fosters and rewards integrity, craftsmanship, continual improvement, servitude, and for those that want more, a real opportunity for advancement.” – Eric Smith, Owner
Built upon old-fashioned values, work ethic, doing the right thing, craftsmanship, and loyalty, our breed has been providing world class plumbing, well pump, and water conditioning service to Waukesha and Washington County for over 80 years.
Know what else we have been doing for over 80 years? Taking darn good care of the incredibly talented team of people that have built our 80-year tradition of success.
How do you prove that, you ask? Well, it bears mentioning our team's average tenure is well over 11 years. That is quite the batting average and doesn’t happen on accident by either party.
The fruits of the labor of simply doing the right thing day in and day out for the past 80 years has been growth in all aspects of our company. Which is why we’re looking for more top talent plumbers to join our team.
But not just any plumber. A specific breed of plumber that, in order to fit in, will need to be:
What positions are we looking to fill? We believe strongly that each individual team member contributes in a unique way to the team, which is why we remain flexible and let the team member show us where they will fit best. That said, most of our team fits into one of the following positions.
Service Technician- The heart and soul of our team, the front line, first response plumbers who help our clients by diagnosing plumbing problems, presenting solutions and ultimately executing the on-the-spot repairs and/or light installs on water heaters, water conditioning equipment, plumbing fixtures, water and drain piping, etc.
Install Tech- This is for the plumber who is clean, neat, organized and receives confirmation on a job well done by installing replacement water heaters, water softeners, plumbing equipment, and light remodel work. Our installers do cross over and so there is some service work, but mainly install prescheduled work. We do not perform new construction plumbing.
Maintenance & Consultation Tech- We have a robust plumbing maintenance base to service and this role is perfect for the plumber who is looking to lighten up the work load a bit while still keeping the technical skills sharp. A maintenance tech performs plumbing system inspections, maintenance, and light repairs as well as assists clients by estimating larger preventative plumbing projects such as re-pipes, major plumbing equipment replacements and light remodels.
Who is not a good fit- Whiners, know-it-all’s, negative Nelly’s, Primadonna's, and drama queens.
Additional Opportunities- If you think you are capable of more, you’re exactly the type of person that should join our team. The phase of growth we are in requires that we build our team around solid leaders. If you toe the line and demonstrate through your actions that you are a leader, you will quickly find yourself in a leadership role.
If you’re still reading, then I’ll bet you are. The next step is to confidentially toss your hat in the ring and apply to join Team Austin.
