Plastic Injection Molding Installer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plastic Injection Molding (PIM) Installer is responsible for the safe and accurate installation of plastic materials on seismic core braces. This role ensures that all components are sealed and secured properly using specified materials and tools to prevent any concrete seepage or structural flaws during the pouring process. Installers will work collaboratively in stations and use both manual labor and rigging tools to perform daily tasks in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Know and perform all phases of creating and assembling proprietary PIM material.

- Cut PIM material into predetermined sizes and shapes using tools such as a bandsaw, cutting table, and other hand tools.

- Cut grooves, slots, and edges using appropriate tools for proper fit.

- Bundle and prepare PIM material for brace installation.

- Assemble PIM material to fabricate steel members and insert assemblies into steel braces.

- Ensure all components fit properly and meet design specifications.

- Use measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.

- Maintain production and inventory reports as required.

- Work independently or as part of a team to complete daily assignments efficiently.

- Use cranes and hoists to assist in the lifting or positioning of materials.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.

- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to perform each essential duty daily.

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

- Experience using cutting machines, saws, and cutting tables is a plus.

- Capable of making accurate measurements and following detailed instructions.

- Able to read and interpret basic shop drawings and work orders.

- Attention to detail and strong focus on quality.

- Reliable, mature, and safety conscious.

- Able to work in a high-paced, team-oriented environment.

- Strong verbal communication skills. Written skills preferred.

- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.

- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and adapt to changing business needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

- Frequent use of hands in handling materials and tools.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

- Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.

- Physically fit to work in an industrial environment and tolerate exposure to varying physical conditions.

- Must be able to work extended hours when necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Industrial manufacturing environment with heavy machinery, forklifts and overhead cranes.

- Use of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear is required.

- Interaction with team members, leads, and supervisors is frequent and necessary.
