Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operator to join our manufacturing team. Duties

- Operate a range of machinery including CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and electrical discharge machines to fabricate metal and sheet metal parts.

- Set up and program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.

- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.

- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.

- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) symbols, and technical documentation for precise fabrication.

- Use hand tools, tooling, cranes, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently during assembly and fabrication processes.

- Maintain detailed records of production activities, inspection results, and machine maintenance logs.

- Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to welding, machining operations, crane operation, and handling sheet metal materials.

- Assist in the setup of tooling and fixtures for various manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or safety improvements.

Skills

- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, press brakes, electrical discharge machines (EDM), stamping presses, or similar equipment.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings including GD&T standards.

- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other quality inspection tools.

- Proficiency in CNC programming or editing programs is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, sheet metal working, assembly processes, and tooling setup.

- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively within a manufacturing environment.

- Familiarity with safety procedures related to crane operation and handling heavy materials or equipment.

- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances or material dimensions.

- Mechanical aptitude with a focus on troubleshooting machinery issues quickly and efficiently.

- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work consistently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
