The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of natural gas amine treating and cryogenic processing plants, compressors and pipeline systems via both computer control center and onsite operations.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment and systems at plant facilities which include, but are not limited to: cryogenic plants, process controls and measurement, engines and compressors, pumps, pressure relief systems, instrument air systems, molecular sieve dehydrators, fuel systems, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, gas fired heaters, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers and NGL transfer systems in a reliable and efficient manner while in compliance with the company's procedures and all applicable regulatory agencies.
- Seek to optimize processing through facility by maintaining proper product specifications
- Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and associated systems, and takes corrective measures
- Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and levels to efficiently achieve desired operating results and ensure proper operation of equipment under current process conditions such as Start/Stop/Rate adjustment of equipment
- Demonstrate understanding in the maintenance and compliance of plant operations in alignment with company and environmental standards (PSM-SPCC-LDEQ) including the creation and maintenance of required reporting and readings Maintain and adhere to required trainings, policies, and procedures
- Pass all PSM-required operator certifications
- Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives
- Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
- May perform lab tests for quality assurance, diagnose mechanical problems, complete minor repairs as needed, assist other technical staff and any other tasks as assigned or required
- Monitor field compressor status, and associated pipelines through the use of SCADA
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures
- Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO)
- Responsible for daily log sheets and various plant reports.
- Loads/unloads compressors at the plant while operator Lead Operator controls the board.
- Makes daily tank rounds in the field at all compressor stations.
- Manages outside heater controls, expander panels, and daily outside plant readings.
- Responsible for minor maintenance in the facility.
- Oversees contractors when work is being done inside the facility.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience is preferred.- Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required. Knowledge of the operation, control and general design of various kinds of systems typically present in a processing or treating plant is required.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
- Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.

- Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. - Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
- Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
- Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
- Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
- Lifts or carries 50 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds).
- Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline
