Hourly rate is $43.67.
Primary Purpose Of Position
This person will be a member of an operations team in a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import and distribution facility. The is a union represented position. (UWUA Local 369)
Essential Job Functions
- Acts as a team member with all employees.
- Complies with all Constellation policies and procedures.
- Perform the duties of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal operator in a 12-hour daily rotational shift environment, including holiday, weekends, and nights.
- Load LNG trucks; and monitor terminal functions at the discretion of the Shift Foreman. Which includes reporting, documenting and computer skills.
- Provide routine maintenance and security tasks.
- Trained on environmental procedures annually.
- Operates the facility recognizing the environmental consequences of actions taken.
- Operates to strive for the lowest reasonable environmental impacts.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
- TWIC card required. (Transportation Worker ID Credential) Obtained and Maintained
- Must possess or obtain a Massachusetts Grade I Industrial Wastewater License
- Lift and move truck-loading hoses weighing 20-30 pounds.
- Carry 20-pound tool kit to top of tank or the ship.
- Climb to top of tank (200+ steps)- Board ship via gangway
- Scale vertical steel ladders up to forty feet or more in height
- All responsibilities must be met in a rotating shift environment, including overtime, holidays, weekends and nights. There is a considerable number of outdoor activities involved.
- Required to pass written and practical examinations to maintain employment.
- Operators are hired under a 6-month probationary period and are evaluated prior to the end of the 6-month period for continued employment.
- Capable of frequently standing; walking; balancing; sitting; climbing (ladders, stairs, ramps, catwalks, stacks and the like as required); stooping; squatting; crouching; crawling; kneeling; reaching; grasping; pushing; pulling; lifting (min. 50lbs); feeling; talking and hearing.
- Capable of performing repetitive motions as required.
- Required to have eyesight corrected at 20/40 to accurately read and interpret such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manuals.
- Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small, enclosed areas, pipes and the like) as required.
- Must be physically capable of performing demanding work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Cryogenic experience a plus.
- Formal education in related technical or engineering discipline or experience desirable.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Protective ear equipment must be worn.
- 30% of the work is performed indoors and 70% is performed outdoors.
