This position is located at the 75 MW Burgess Energy Services biomass facility located in Berlin, New Hampshire.
Rotating shifts: 4 days/nights on followed by 4 days/nights off.
- Operate, maintain, and repair fluidized bubbling bed combustor, steam generators, steam turbines, electrical generators, air compressors, motors, pumps, compressors, electrical switchgear, loaders, ash and fuel handling systems, bulldozers, and small utility equipment.
- Record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumption, temperature or pressure, water level, analysis of flue gases, voltage load, and generator balance.
- Use prescribed plant operations procedures to adjust manual control or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating range.
- Operate the plant equipment in a safe manner through the use of plant operations procedures as directed by the Control Room Operator.
- Perform routine plant rounds and record keeping.
- Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform all aspects of water test and treatments.
- Perform ash handling duties.
- Comply with company plant safety and regulatory procedures.
- Primary outside plant environment.
- Routinely works rotating shift schedule.
- Available for call-out duty, weekend work, and overtime.
- Exposure to extreme environmental conditions, hazardous materials, heights, high noise levels and confined spaces.
- Outdoor weather conditions: heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, mud, ice, and dust.
- Ability to pass the standard company physical exam.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and operate company vehicles.

Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Able to hear (at some dB limit of loss) in order to hear plant alarms, equipment condition, and to receive oral instructions.
- Able to see to determine plant operating conditions and to avoid safety hazards.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in a power plant.
- Ability to read and interpret documentation such as technical manuals, piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical one-line diagrams, and operating and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to employees and contractors.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Computer proficient.
