The Plant Manager is a pivotal leadership position in our manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing all aspects of its operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance. This role demands a blend of strong leadership, technical knowledge, and strategic thinking to drive the plant's overall success and profitability.
- Participate in the recruiting, hiring, interviewing, and training of staff in department
- Lead and mentor the team leads
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

- Build leadership strength and succession plan
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII), providing guidance to team members and supporting policy development and enforcement.

- Overseeing Operations: Manage the daily functioning of manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met and operational excellence is achieved.
- Leading and Developing Staff: Recruit, hire, train, and develop plant personnel, providing leadership, motivation, and managing performance to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Optimizing Efficiency and Costs: Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, minimize waste, reduce manufacturing costs, and ensure optimal utilization of resources (manpower, equipment, materials).
- Ensuring Quality Standards: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring all products meet established specifications and industry regulations.
- Maintaining Safety and Compliance: Promote health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring the facility complies with all applicable standards and creating a safe work environment for all employees.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage and control production budgets, forecast expenses, and allocate resources effectively to optimize spending and achieve financial goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the plant, such as implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies, to streamline processes and enhance overall performance.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., product design, procurement, accounting, order processing, human resources, facilities) and senior management to ensure smooth workflow, address operational issues, and align activities with strategic initiatives.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze production data to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and create reports for leadership.
- Strong Leadership & People Management: Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and manage diverse teams effectively, including delegation, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of production processes, quality control, equipment maintenance, and industry-specific processes (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO).
- Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems, assess risks, make sound decisions, and develop strategies for operational improvement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees, supervisors, management, and external stakeholders.
- Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
- Computer Proficiency: Skilled in using relevant software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
- Organizational & Time Management: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and maintain an organized work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience of at least 10 years in a manufacturing or production environment, including 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Compensation Target: $92,000 -$140,000 /year, based on experience
