Location: Sterling Heights, MI – 100% Onsite
You start your morning on the plant floor, checking in with supervisors to understand staffing needs and celebrating yesterday’s wins. By mid-morning, you’re guiding a fair, thorough investigation with empathy and discretion. After lunch, you huddle with leadership to plan pipeline-building strategies, then close the day aligning safety program updates with workers’ comp requirements and ensuring training schedules are locked in. Every action reinforces a respectful, team-first culture where people take pride in their craft.
- Full-cycle staffing and recruiting, including creative sourcing and talent pipeline development
- Trust-centered employee relations, investigations, and compliance practices
- Safety program oversight and workers’ compensation coordination
- Benefits administration with hands-on problem solving
- Employee training delivery and coordination
- HRIS and timekeeping system administration and reporting
- Close partnership with leadership to uphold a consistent, fair, and people-first culture
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- 8–10 years of HR generalist experience with supervisory/management responsibilities
- Background in manufacturing and ease engaging with plant-floor teams
- Demonstrated recruiting success and innovative staffing approaches
- Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and compliance
- Experience overseeing safety initiatives and workers’ compensation
- Hands-on benefits administration expertise
- Track record coordinating and/or delivering training
- Proficiency with HRIS and timekeeping platforms
- Highly self-directed, organized, and confident operating as the site’s HR owner
