Burrow Global is seeking an experienced Piping Design Lead
for a client in the Petrochemical industry. This role is pivotal in leading the engineering design efforts for EPC related projects, with a primary focus on process piping and pipeline projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee project execution, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure delivery of high-quality engineering solutions aligned with project scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities EPC Project Leadership:
Lead the piping engineering design activities across EPC projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. Develop and review scope of work (SOW) documents, engineering deliverables, and technical specifications.
Design Execution & Review
Oversee and contribute to the development of piping layouts, material specifications, and fabrication drawings using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, CadWorx). Ensure design consistency, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
Technical Guidance
Provide expert advice on piping materials, stress analysis, fabrication, and installation procedures. Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and construction teams to optimize design solutions.
Project Management
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources for piping design tasks within the EPC scope. Develop man-hour estimates, monitor project progress, and implement corrective actions as needed to meet project milestones.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a small team of engineers and designers. Assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and foster professional growth within the team.
Quality & Safety Assurance
Ensure all piping designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and safety practices. Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality audits to maintain high standards.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Documentation & Process Control
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, review design drawings, and manage revision control. Ensure proper document control procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to enhance design workflows, reduce costs, and improve project efficiencies through process improvements and innovative design approaches.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
Develop training programs to keep the piping team updated on industry’s best practices, new technologies, and project-specific requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with 7-10 years of experience as a piping design lead or department manager.
