West Penn Energy Services is hiring a skilled Pipeline Equipment Operator for an upcoming project near Cameron, West Virginia. This is a project-based opportunity running through the fall, with the possibility of continued work based on performance and project demand.
We're looking for an experienced operator proficient with excavators in rugged, steep terrain, who is safety-focused and comfortable working in a high-production pipeline construction environment.
What You’ll Do:
•Safely operate heavy equipment, primarily excavators, for pipeline installation, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation—especially on steep and challenging terrain.
•Support pipeline construction crews by coordinating machine movements with ground personnel.
•Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment safety and performance.
•Assist with setting pipe, loading/unloading materials, and general site support as needed.
•Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (hard hats, boots, gloves, glasses).
•Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to keep operations running smoothly and on schedule.
•Maintain awareness of surroundings and hazards when working near slopes, trenches, and other crews.
What You’ll Bring:
•Proven experience operating excavators in pipeline construction, especially in steep or mountainous terrain.
•Strong understanding of excavation safety practices, especially around active pipeline work zones.
•Physical ability to support field labor activities when not operating equipment.
•Willingness to work in changing weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•Bonus if you have: experience with other equipment (e.g., dozers, skid steers), pipeline coating knowledge, or safety certifications (OSHA 10/30, etc.).
Working Conditions:
•Outdoor work in all weather (heat, cold, rain).
•Steep, uneven terrain and remote job sites.
•Physically demanding tasks including climbing in/out of equipment, assisting with manual labor, and working extended hours or overtime as needed.
