Legacy is seeking Pipeline Corrosion Technicians to contribute to the sustainability and success of business units serving the oil & gas market throughout the United States. This is a field position located near Bridgeport, WV. Applicants are not required to live near the reporting location.
The desired qualifications of the Pipeline Corrosion Technician include:
- AMPP (NACE) CP Tester (CP-I) or greater
- AMPP (NACE) CIP I or greater
- Fundamental understanding of indirect and direct assessment applications and details
- Knowledge of Direct Assessment methodologies including ECDA, ICDA, SCCDA, Close-interval-survey and gradient surveys
- Understanding of corrosion behavior and types of mitigation options
- Ability to apply critical thinking to troubleshooting activities in pursuit of solutions to corrosion and cathodic protection issues
- Ability to perform stray current and sphere-of-influence testing to achieve a desired result
- Drive to be customer focused, professional, and a good steward of all resources available
The responsibilities of the Pipeline Corrosion Technician include:
- Traversing pipeline right-of-way in various terrains
- Annual surveys
- Coating assessments (Direct and Indirect)
- CIS, DCVG, ACVG, Current Mapping, and IR drop testing
- Perform inspection of cathodic protection and AC mitigation construction activities and document
- Participate in and conduct progress meetings with customers, vendors and internal personnel
- Compile reports associated with field data
- Promote a safe workplace free of incidents or injuries
Candidate must have a valid drivers license with good driving record, ability to travel up to 80%, ability to lift up to 60lbs safely, and successfully pass background check as well as drug and alcohol testing.
