Overview
Corrosion Service Company Ltd. (CSCL) is hiring
Corrosion Technicians (Level I & II)to support the field execution of cathodic protection and AC mitigation projects. This role involves hands-on technical work, data collection, and system maintenance in outdoor and remote environments. Technicians will work independently and as part of a team, with opportunities for mentorship and career progression.
Key Responsibilities Field Operations:
- Install, energize, and maintain cathodic protection systems.
- Conduct over-the-line depth of cover, close interval cathodic protection, and voltage gradient/coating surveys.
- Perform field testing for AC mitigation projects.
- Collect, interpret and understand key data as it relates to cathodic protection, DC interference, and voltage gradients.
- Execute rectifier interruption, collect readings, and perform basic maintenance.
- Complete technical tasks such as pipe-to-soil potential readings, waveform analysis, soil resistivity measurements, and continuity testing.
- Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.
- Mentor junior field staff.
- Ensure profitable and timely delivery of services.
- Respond to project issues in coordination with Team Leads.
- Provide on-site technical guidance and escalate issues as needed.
- Follow inventory procedures for accurate tracking.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Complete required field Health and Safety documentation.
- Follow emergency response procedures and use all PPE required.
- Report hazards, incidents or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Participate in mandatory safety training and follow safe work practices/procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Uphold company Code of Conduct and dress code standards.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies and suggest improvements.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or Technologist program (asset).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience.
- Physically fit and able to lift 30kg regularly.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Strong oral, written, and problem-solving skills.
- Requires support on most task levels; oversight based on complexity.
- AMPP CP1 designation or higher.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- AIT Level 1 or higher (Alberta only).
- Strong technical capabilities and minimal supervision required.
- Ability to guide team by clear explanation of relevant facts, policies and procedures.
- Oversight required only on high complexity projects.
- Strong oral, written, and problem-solving skills.
