Archer Mechanical is seeking a full-time Pipe Welder to join our growing team!
Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing design-build, design-assist, new construction, additions, remodels, retrofits, service, and preventative maintenance.

As a Pipe Welder you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and productivity of our fabrication projects. Your responsibilities will include fitting, welding, and fabricating various related projects for the pre-construction team. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that the welded joints are done in accordance with approved procedures, applicable codes, and pass all levels of required examination & inspection. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a productive work environment will be essential in meeting project deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
•TIG Welding and combo welding (NEEDED)
•Maintain a high level of attention to safety, quality, and productivity in the welding/fabrication area.
•Perform pipe fitting and welding activities, grinding, cutting, flame cutting, plasma cutting, while completing welded piping systems, including olets, buttwelds, socket welds, etc.
•Perform fitting and welding on required structural and support systems essential for piping systems.
•Safely operate forklifts, lift equipment, and cranes to handle materials as required.
•Operate shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
•Process materials following work orders and shop drawings with accuracy.
•Prepare and process all necessary paperwork for order completion.
•Adhere to schedules and ensure on-time shipment of orders.
•Properly stack processed materials and pack them for shipping.
•Fabricate, weld, and assemble
•Actively maintain and improve the work environment, safety, and health standards.
Qualifications
•Minimum of two years of TIG welding Experience
•Minimum of two years of experience welding with the SMAW and/or GTAW process
•Proficiently pass the Archer Mechanical Gate Test, i.e., weld a 2.5" XXH butt joint in a 6G position in under 4 hours. The weld will be x-rayed.
•Must have experience welding with the following processes, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, & FCAW.
•Capable of machine setup, including adjusting wire speed, voltage, and gas flow.
•Proficient in safely using and operating shop tools and equipment.
•Knowledge of 5S/Lean principles is a plus.
•Ability to follow written instructions and interpret shop drawings.
•Familiarity with safety procedures, including OSHA standards.
•Capable of working independently in a production-oriented environment.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow.
•Ability to read CAD drawings, with CAD Viewer experience as a plus.
•Welding proficiency in TIG and Stick, with relevant certifications.
•Capability to lift 50-75 lbs. regularly.
•Dedication to producing a high-quality product.
