We are MAKRs – Our common goal, our passion, is to create global communities connected through play and social experiences. We believe the world needs more places where coming together, connecting, and having fun are inevitable.
The MAKR Group is comprised of three working brands dedicated to making the world more livable, playful and socially just—Waterplay, a cheeky global splash pad provider, Parkworks, a Western Canadian Park space supplier, and Wekid Mfg., Canada’s most playfully professional steel manufacturing team.
With 10’s of thousands of play and park space installations throughout the world, the MAKR Group have helped provide millions of people, from all walks of life, of all ages, and with diverse abilities, with access to amazing, inviting, playable, enjoyable, “go-backable” recreation places. What makes us jump out of bed every morning is knowing we’re integral to creating these meaningful places, and we need people like you to help us build them.
You’re a people-focused professional with deep expertise in recruitment and talent strategy. You thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and excel at juggling multiple requisitions while never losing sight of the candidate and hiring manager experience. You’re a networker, a brand ambassador, and a problem-solver who knows how to build pipelines for today’s hiring needs while planning for tomorrow’s growth. You care about culture as much as capability, and you understand that great hires lead to strong retention and long-term success.
You inject fun into your work and invite others to do the same. We’re a different kind of company, and we’re looking for a different kind of individual to join our team!
As the People Strategist – Talent Acquisition & Retention, you’ll oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for hourly production, skilled trades, and professional roles. You’ll partner with hiring managers to shape job requirements, source and select top candidates, and support smooth onboarding experiences. Beyond filling open roles, you’ll build proactive pipelines for hard-to-fill positions and drive retention initiatives that help us keep our best people engaged.
