Position Summary
SPS is currently seeking a PM/PdM Technician Lead for our facility in Poteet, Texas. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. This position will be responsible for performing the PM on bearings and gear boxes throughout the plant.
Essential Responsibilities
•Responsible to assist with development of PM and PdM tasks, routes, methods, and procedures
•Learn reliability skills, including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, lubrication, machinery balancing, machinery alignment, belt tensioning, etc.
•Coach other maintenance technicians and equipment operators to perform PM and potentially PdM tasks as they become more fully developed and easier to execute
•Ensure that the PM and PdM work is fully documented in Acumatica as it is executed, so valid history exists for the Maintenance Manager to analyze and interpret
•Encourage the maintenance technicians to perform PM work once the procedures are tested and approved
•Support the Maintenance Manager in developing a list of problem equipment, and associated response to the failure modes, in order to eliminate downtime
•Conduct your work on a daily basis, in accordance with the results of our Maintenance KPIs as the success of maintenance is driven by facts
•Ensure that regulatory PM tasks are fully developed and current
•Work with the Maintenance team to ensure that they [tasks, repairs, projects] are scheduled and executed in a timely manner, with proper documentation of the work done by the technicians
•Work with the other maintenance technicians on service orders, sometimes corrective in nature
•Encourage the transition to preventive maintenance
•Plan work when necessary, working closely with the Maintenance team
•Work with the Maintenance team to optimize the inventory to support reliable operation
•Assist the Maintenance Manager in driving the overall maintenance strategy toward best practice reliability
•Work a schedule that supports the plant needs, which may include overtime, shiftwork, nights, weekend and holidays; however, the intent is for the role to be primarily a day shift position
•May be required to drive a company truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors

Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or equivalent required
•5 years’ experience in related fields, including maintenance, operations and/or engineering
•No specialized certifications required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Understanding of PM and PdM methods
•Able to learn and use basic functions of the Acumatica maintenance software, and ability to learn more advanced features as needed
•Respected maintenance person, with ability to interact effectively with others as a coach and mentor
•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to equipment operation/maintenance
•Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
•Ability to read prints including mechanical and electrical prints
•Ability to properly use testing equipment, and learn to use new equipment as it is acquired
•Strong Communication skills, including development of a strong working relationship with Operations personnel
•Willingness to achieve certifications in PM, PdM techniques as needed
•Knowledge and use of hand, power, shop tools, and equipment associated with the position
•Be able to work alone as well as in a team environment

· All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry, and dusty

· Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, stoop, squat, tolerate prolonged. standing/walking, balance, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
