Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. They would a variety of custodial duties that are necessary to maintain a cleanly work environment and facility for all MTI Buildings. This role is essential in upholding the standards of cleanliness and hygiene in both commercial and residential settings.

Duties/Responsibilities:

•

Keep floors clean, sweeping and clearing debris.

•

Sweep & mop shop floor offices and front entry in Shipping & Receiving.

•

Sweep & mop Tool & Die front entry way and stairs.

•

Empty all trash receptacles & keep area clean.

•

Clean bathrooms & Ensure all bathroom supplies are stocked in bathrooms.

•

Ensure all breakroom areas are cleaned, including floors, tables, microwaves & refrigerators.

•

Clean ground level windows in Production, induction and Tool & Die Departments.

•

Keep toilet paper & paper towels stocked in second floor cleaning closet.

•

Ensure that all cleaning, bathroom inventories and equipment are properly stored and accounted for.

•

Report supply shortage to maintenance manager or accounts payable to reorder supplies.

•

Pick up trash and debris in parking lots, sidewalks and alleyways surrounding the buildings.

•

Ensure all doorways and aisleways have at least a 3-foot path. Move carts to ensure these areas are kept clear.

•

Clean second floor offices, clean/vacuum floors & empty trash bins, as needed.

•

Assist set up or break down tables and chairs for an event, as needed.

•

Assist maintenance staff with snow removal, painting, mowing, weed-eating, or landscaping, as needed.

Additional Responsibilities: Assist with other tasks outside of janitorial duties when requested.

Skills

•

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

•

Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred.

•

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

•

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple tasks.

•

Ability to use janitor tools, equipment or supplies, including broom, mop, cleaning tools & supplies, and outdoor tools effectively.

Work Environment: Warehouse environment, may encounter dirt, dust, oil, & chemicals. Will encounter varying temperature, hot in the summer, cool in the winter. May be exposed to the outdoors with various weather conditions, including sun, rain, snow/ice and allergy.

Physical Requirements:

•

Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

•

Able to climb stairs or ladders.

•

Able to lift a minimum of 50 Lbs.

•

Required to wear safety shoes.

Hours: Mon.-Fri. 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm (4 hours shifts)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
