Coterra is hiring an Oracle EBS Developer in Houston, Texas
As an Oracle EBS Developer for Coterra, working in our Corporate Applications Development team, you will bring a deep technical expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), strong integration capabilities with cloud applications and APIs, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions. You will also help end users understand application features to accomplish their business goals and partner with Database Administrators to achieve great application performance. This position is located onsite at our Houston, Texas headquarters.
Development: Develops solutions using standards and best practices of the applications language. Writes code that implements the design that is testable, extensible, efficient and maintainable.
Impact Analysis: Understand the rationale behind and how changes impact the enterprise and/or applications and across the technical ecosystem.
Solution Design: Ability to translate high level requirements to create and implement designs that meet the needs of the customer, are technically sound, maintainable and cost effective. Ability to identify missing or ambiguous requirements. Ability to design at both high and low levels of abstraction, understand complex requirements and translate into understandable solutions. Ability to accurately estimate based on requirements.
Technical Domain: Have an understanding of the technical domain, including the application architecture, design and data of the application they support and systems to which it interfaces.
- Document code and projects so others can easily understand, maintain and support
- Fulfill customer requirements according to project/enhancement specifications
- Apply team coding, documenting and testing standards and recommend process improvements
- Participate in patching, upgrades, and release testing to ensure system stability and compliance with internal standards.
- Monitor and maintain application environments including DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Anticipates the impact of a change or project across multiple systems
- Communicate application changes clearly, concisely, and objectively, both verbally and in writing
- Learn the business process domain to better support the business
- Decrease incidents and increase up-time by developing quality code and testing
- The Senior Application Developer will demonstrate advanced skills while coaching and mentoring less senior team members
- Must be a US Perm resident or Green Card holder, no sponsorship of any type provided.
- Proven experience in Oracle EBS development (Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Workflow, APIs).
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and performance tuning.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including business analysts, DBAs, and end users.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Integrate Oracle EBS with cloud-based applications using REST/SOAP APIs and other middleware tools to enable seamless data exchange and process automation.
- Experience with EBS R12 or later versions preferred.
- Design, code, test, and deliver insightful and architecturally sound business solutions around high complexity work
- Practical expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts
- Knowledge of ETL tools - Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition
- Experience with Oracle (preferably version 12)
- Experience with IFS/P2 Energy Applications
- Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Tools and Middleware Platforms
- Knowledge of Unix Scripting and job scheduling
- Practical expertise in lifecycle database design
- Experience with Java programming language
- Experience in Data Quality and Cleansing, Data Governance, Metadata usage and management, and Master data management
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Warehouse design and development
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Less than 5% travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training
