- Splice loose tube and ribbon fiber optic cables with precision
- Use fusion splicing equipment to ensure low-loss connections
- Terminate fibers at splice enclosures, panels, or junction boxes
- Conduct OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and power meter tests
- Identify and resolve signal loss or faults in the fiber network
- Document test results and maintain accurate records
- Install OPGW cables on transmission towers or substations
- Perform aerial and underground cable work in various environments
- Maintain and repair existing fiber infrastructure
- Follow strict safety protocols when working at heights or near high-voltage equipment
- Comply with industry standards and utility regulations
- Use PPE and fall protection gear appropriately
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience and knowledge of underground utility construction a must
- Ability to operate all equipment safely and productively
- Knowledge and understanding of reading drawings and ability to follow specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with crew, leadership, and clients
- Valid Driver’s License
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Current CPR Certification
