Operator/Truck Driver (CDL)
Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) located in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Operator/Truck Driver with a valid CDL to support our field crews in transporting equipment, materials, and operating heavy machinery for high voltage construction projects. This dual-role position requires versatility in operating various types of equipment and safely transporting loads to and from job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
•Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., flatbeds, lowboys, dump trucks) to transport materials and heavy equipment.
•Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, skid steers, mini-excavators, and loaders as needed on job sites.
•Assist with site preparation, backfilling, trenching, loading/unloading, and general civil or electrical support tasks.
•Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs per DOT requirements.
•Ensure equipment and materials are secured properly and transported safely to avoid damage or delays.
•Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations and procedures.
•Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area.
•Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, and field crews to coordinate equipment usage and deliveries.
•Perform minor equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
•Minimum 2 years of experience operating commercial trucks and heavy equipment.
•Familiarity with DOT regulations and daily driving logs.
•Ability to read and interpret maps, load manifests, and delivery instructions.
•Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
•Willingness to travel and work overtime as required.
•Strong work ethic and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
Preferred:
•Experience in utility or high voltage transmission/distribution construction.
•NCCCO or equipment-specific certifications a plus.
•Experience with lowboy trailers and oversized loads.
