Job Summary:
Daniels Construction, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an experienced CDL licensed truck driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting material and equipment as directed with trucks at a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds per gross vehicle weight. The role is associated with the construction of bridges, roads, drainage, electrical substations, water and wastewater facilities, underground utilities, excavations, dams, retaining walls, site development and demolition as well as a variety of carpentry and concrete projects.
Essential Job Functions (the listed examples are considered essential to this position, but may not include all duties performed):
•To be dependable, responsible and respectful.
•Participate in a pre-employment and random pool for drug and alcohol testing.
•Maintain accurate driver's log, to include project load sheets when required.
•Performing daily vehicle inspections, reporting deficiencies as necessary.
•Proper and safe operation of vehicles, light or medium equipment used in construction activities.
•Knowledge of the specifications and limitations of the vehicle being operated.
•Loading and unloading of equipment and materials, or assist with these operations.
•Perform preventative maintenance : fuel, grease, schedule service times and general housekeeping of the truck.
•General knowledge of securing equipment and loads.
•Compliance with Daniels Construction safety and all company policies.
•Traveling out of town to work on remote job sites as directed.
•Work associated with traffic control and MUTCD requirements.
•Work associated with OSHA regulations and training.
•Physical requirements such as frequent twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, lifting (up to 80 lbs), carrying, grasping, handling, climbing, reaching, and balancing.

Education and Experience:
The desired minimum requirement for this position shall be a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably some post-high school training or related heavy construction knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the general public (need to have excellent verbal skills and a positive attitude).
•Basic knowledge of construction techniques and the equipment necessary to do the work productively and safely.
•Ability to work alone at times, without close supervision.
•Ability to navigate effectively via verbal, written directions, maps or GPS
•Ability to operate equipment off road and maneuver trucks into a loading or unloading position.
•Ability to effectively work with other crews/co-workers to allow positive morale and productivity.
•Ability to understand and follow directions/instructions.
•Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
