Williams Operating Corporation - Barrick Gold located near Marathon in Northwestern Ontario presently requires a: Site Services Road Crew Operator Position Description
The Surface Road Crew position is a labor-intensive role that demands physical activity and attention to safety. Workers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment to support road maintenance, site services, and other surface infrastructure needs at the mine site.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Safe and efficient operation of the following equipment:
- Loaders (988, 966, IT38 & Rubber Tire Backhoe)
- Snow plow
- Sander
- Dozer
- Bobcat
- Grader (14M, 14H & 140G)
- 777 Haul truck
- Excavator
- Cat rock trucks (725,730)
- Perform road maintenance, snow removal, sanding, grading, ditching, hauling, and general site services in support of surface operations.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections, complete equipment logs, and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain safe and clear access to site roads, ramps, laydown areas, and other high-traffic zones in all weather conditions.
- Ensure proper signage and traffic control measures are in place where applicable.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, hazard identification, and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Assist with manual labor and general site cleanup as required.
- Support other operational areas as required and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Grade 12 required.
- D-Z license required (training provided if needed).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of heavy equipment operation experience in a mining, construction, or industrial environment required.
- Demonstrated safe work practices and strong attendance record required.
- Knowledgeable in site and department operating procedures an asset.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to changing conditions required.
- Willingness and ability to work shift schedules, including day/night rotation required.
- Knowledge of mine site traffic rules and surface operations is considered an asset.
- Experience operating during adverse weather conditions is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate the above-mentioned equipment required.
- Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces and varying weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and performing physically demanding tasks required.
This is a residential position operating on a 7/7 rotation schedule, working 12-hour day and night shifts as needed. The successful candidate must reside within commuting distance of the mine site - a local travel allowance is provided.

About The Team
Hemlo has produced more than 21 million ounces of gold and has been operating continuously for more than 30 years.
